President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has visited Sultan Park in Malé to inspect the ongoing, military-led redevelopment aimed at restoring the historic public space. During the inspection, the President was briefed on the modern facilities and integrated technology being installed under the supervision of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). He reviewed the physical progress of the project, which was assigned to the MNDF to ensure rapid restoration following years of neglect.
The President also examined final preparations for the "Eid Haveeru 1447" event, an MNDF-organized celebration for Eid al-Fitr, inquiring about planned public activities. He inspected stalls for the event and newly developed recreational features within the park, including an overhead obstacle course and a shooting range.
The comprehensive upgrade, once complete, will transform Sultan Park with modern amenities. Furthermore, the area previously used for the seasonal "Winter Park" attraction will be redeveloped to include a dedicated e-gaming centre, signaling a blend of recreational and technological offerings for the public.
