President Muizzu Launches 'Nation Chat' to Detail Government Progress and Key Policies
Politics ·
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will debut a new public information program, "Nation Chat," tonight at 9:00 PM. The initiative, broadcast by PSM News, aims to provide citizens with direct insights into government operations and the progress of state-led projects.
The inaugural episode will address a broad spectrum of critical national issues. Key topics slated for discussion include the current political climate of the Maldives, national development goals, and urgent social and healthcare challenges. The President is also expected to elaborate on the National Service Programme, a key pillar of the administration's youth and civic engagement strategy.
To ensure maximum accessibility across the archipelago, the program will be aired simultaneously across three major platforms: PSM News, Television Maldives (TVM), and Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, the national radio broadcaster. This multi-channel approach ensures that residents in both the urban center of Malé and the remote islands can access the information.
"Nation Chat" represents the latest addition to the administration's communication strategy. Since taking office, President Muizzu has prioritized transparency and public engagement through various media formats. This includes holding weekly press conferences designed to provide reporters with direct access to the presidency and keep the public informed on ongoing initiatives.
Complementing these efforts is the "Presser with the Spox" series, where Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef provides weekly updates and responds to journalistic inquiries. By introducing "Nation Chat," the government seeks to diversify its communication, moving from responsive press briefings to a structured format where the President can outline the administration's vision and achievements directly to the nation.
