President Muizzu Opens 'Rayyithunge Adu' Applications for Eight New Constituencies

The President's Office has opened applications for residents of eight additional electoral constituencies to participate in "Rayyithunge Adu," a direct public engagement initiative hosted by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. Registration is now available for residents of Henveiru Uthuru, Milandhoo, Velidhoo, Thulhaadhoo, Felidhoo, Mulaku, Nilandhoo, and Guraidhoo. Interested individuals must register through the dedicated online portal at rayyithungeadu.presidency.gov.mv before the deadline of midnight on August 31. Launched to bridge the gap between the executive and the public, "Rayyithunge Adu" provides citizens with individual access to the President. Participants can raise personal concerns, represent the interests of organizations, or discuss matters of broader public importance. To ensure fairness, the President's Office will allocate meeting slots based on request volume and administrative capacity, with confirmed dates sent directly to applicants. Each participant is granted a 10-minute window for their session. To accommodate family support, the guidelines allow applicants to be accompanied by their spouse, one child, and one parent. The administration has emphasized a strict code of conduct, noting that respectful behavior is mandatory and any disruptive or vulgar language will not be tolerated. This expansion follows an initial phase that included constituencies such as Hulhumale’ Uthuru, Hulhudhoo, and Fuvahmulah Dhekunu. The initiative was first introduced during the "Nation Chat" programme, broadcast in collaboration with Public Service Media (PSM). The project marks a continuation of President Muizzu's broader commitment to grassroots engagement. Over the past two years, the President has visited every inhabited island and met with all local councils across the Maldives to better understand the needs of the archipelago's diverse populations.
