President Muizzu Pledges Inclusive Society on World Down Syndrome Day

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive society. His message, posted on social media platform X to mark World Down Syndrome Day, framed the cause through both Islamic principles and universal human values.
The President highlighted the religious imperative for kindness, stating that treating those in need with compassion is a core tenet emphasized in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). He reinforced that assisting those in need constitutes one of the most enduring acts of charity in Islam.
Aligning with this year's global theme, the President stressed that no individual should be excluded from society. He noted his administration has undertaken numerous initiatives over the past 28 months to foster inclusion, affirming that building an inclusive and compassionate society will remain a top future priority.
Echoing this sentiment, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a message on X. She noted that the challenges faced by individuals do not reflect a lack of strength and praised the unique virtues of the community. She stated that despite often experiencing exclusion, individuals with Down syndrome interact with the world with profound love, compassion, and kindness.
