President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to the One China Principle, pledging to deepen diplomatic ties and expand cooperation with the People's Republic of China. The President conveyed these sentiments in separate messages addressed to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. The communications were sent to congratulate the Chinese leadership and their people on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In his messages, President Muizzu highlighted the enduring nature of the bilateral relationship, describing the bond between the two nations as one rooted in a longstanding friendship and a close strategic partnership.
