President Muizzu Unveils 40-Station E-Gaming Arena for Sultan Park

Politics ·
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the development of a dedicated e-gaming arena in Malé’s Sultan Park. The new facility will feature 40 gaming stations and a tournament arena designed to host international competitions. It will also include a media room for streaming and broadcasting content. Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of this year, with a completion target of 360 days. This project is part of a government initiative, developed in collaboration with youth stakeholders, to advance e-sports in the Maldives. Currently, the primary venue for such activities is the “Youth Third Space,” a youth hub established at Muleeage in response to requests from young people. While the “Youth Third Space,” inaugurated in November 2025, supports e-gaming alongside other programs like boot camps and workshops, demand for a specialized, high-capacity facility has grown. The new Sultan Park arena aims to meet this demand directly. The government's push reflects the high public interest in e-sports. The dedicated arena is expected to provide a professional platform for gamers while fostering skill development and social interaction among the youth demographic.
