President Muizzu Urges Students to Excel in Crucial Higher Secondary Exams

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized that the higher secondary examinations are a vital milestone in shaping the professional futures of Maldivian students. In a statement released as the assessment period began, the President highlighted that these exams serve as the foundation for selecting higher education pathways and establishing long-term career trajectories. President Muizzu expressed confidence in the students, noting that those who invested dedicated preparation would now reap the rewards of their hard work. He voiced his hope that candidates would articulate their answers with brilliance, delivering results that bring pride to the entire nation. Echoing these sentiments, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed shared a message of support for the candidates. She noted the high national expectations accompanying the assessments and offered prayers for the students, wishing them mental clarity and ease as they navigate their examinations. The First Lady added that strong academic achievements not only bring pride to parents and educators but also illuminate a brighter future for the country's youth. The current examination cycle is a massive nationwide undertaking. A total of 7,236 students are participating, with 4,973 candidates sitting for the Advanced Level (A-Level) exams and 2,263 taking the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams. These assessments are being administered across 53 designated centers. Regional data reveals a significant concentration of candidates in the capital, with 3,284 students attending four centers in the Greater Malé Region. Meanwhile, 1,689 students are distributed across 49 centers in island schools throughout the various atolls. This year's academic calendar sees an overlap in testing schedules. The Ordinary Level (O-Level) examinations are running from September 20 through November 12, while the A-Level examinations proceed concurrently from September 27 through October 30.
