President Muizzu Urges Students to Prioritize Studies and Discipline During Exams

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on students to manage their time effectively and prioritize their academic commitments as they navigate critical examination periods. Speaking during an appearance on the 'Nation Chat' programme, the President offered guidance and encouragement to those currently sitting for their O-Levels and those preparing for their A-Levels. While acknowledging the importance of a balanced life, President Muizzu emphasized that a student's primary focus must remain on their education. He urged students to maintain a disciplined approach, advising them to listen to their parents and maintain regular prayer, which he highlighted as a foundation for achieving success and positive results. Drawing from his own academic journey, the President shared personal reflections on his school days. He noted that his success was the result of a determined effort to achieve the best possible outcomes, recalling that he took additional subjects for his O-Level examinations beyond the standard curriculum offered by his school. This year's O-Level examinations are scheduled to continue until November 12. The scale of the national academic effort is significant, with 8,111 students participating in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams and 7,776 students undertaking Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams. To facilitate these examinations, the government has established a wide network of testing centers. In the Malé region, 25 centers have been set up to accommodate 3,222 students. To ensure accessibility for those living across the archipelago, 242 centers have been established in the islands to support an additional 2,869 students.
