PSM Collaborates with Five TV Channels for Nationwide SAFF Championship Broadcast

Local News ·
Public Service Media (PSM) has secured partnerships with five private television channels to ensure extensive coverage of the upcoming Under-20 SAFF Championship, enhancing public access to the tournament across the Maldives. The agreements, signed with SSTV, VTV, MMTV, Mendhuru TV, and Dhivehi Channel, aim to maximize viewership for the regional football event. PSM's Deputy Managing Director Abdulla Yameen and Executive Director of News and Current Affairs Hussain Ameen Naseer formalized the deals alongside representatives from each outlet. PSM Sports will broadcast all matches live, with pre-match shows dedicated to games featuring the Maldives national team. This collaborative effort brings the championship to screens nationwide, supporting local sports engagement. Seven teams are participating: Maldives, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal. Teams have begun arriving in the Maldives ahead of the tournament's start on March 23. Tickets for matches are now on sale. The Maldives team plays its first match at 20:30 hours on March 23, followed by games on March 25 (night) and March 27 (evening). This initiative reflects PSM's role in connecting Maldivians to major sporting events.
