PSM Named Official Media Partner for Vara Expo 2026 Job Fair

Public Service Media (PSM) has been appointed as the official media partner for Vara Expo 2026, a premier employment event designed to bridge the gap between Maldivian job seekers and potential employers. Organized by the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, the expo is scheduled to take place from November 26 to 28, 2026, at Central Park in Hulhumalé. The event serves as a strategic hub where government institutions and private sector businesses gather to showcase vacancies and allow candidates to engage directly with hiring managers. The partnership was formalized on September 22 through an agreement signed by State Minister Dr. Abdulla Nazeer and PSM Deputy Managing Director Abdulla Yamin. Under this agreement, PSM will lead the promotional efforts and provide comprehensive news coverage to ensure the public is well-informed about the opportunities available. State Minister Dr. Abdulla Nazeer highlighted the significant impact of the expo, noting that PSM's extensive coverage over the last three years has been instrumental in the event's success. He revealed that in the previous edition, 30,000 young people sought employment information, resulting in more than 1,100 individuals securing jobs directly following the event. Abdulla Yamin, PSM’s Deputy Managing Director, emphasized that Vara Expo differs from standard events by focusing specifically on individual skillsets and professional capabilities. Because of this unique focus, he noted that effective public communication is essential to maximize the event's reach. PSM is currently reviewing its communication strategies to enhance how information is delivered to the public, aiming to improve the accessibility of job-related data and support the overarching goal of reducing unemployment among the youth.
