Qatar Airways Returns to Maldives with Five Weekly Flights from April 2026
Politics ·
Qatar Airways will resume its direct service between Doha and Malé starting 8 April 2026, ending a suspension prompted by regional tensions in the Middle East. The airline will operate up to five weekly flights, restoring a vital international link for the archipelago.
This route is crucial for the Maldivian tourism sector, facilitating inbound visitors and providing outbound connectivity for residents. It enhances access from key feeder markets including Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, supporting the nation's economic recovery.
To accommodate passengers amid ongoing uncertainties, the airline has implemented a flexible rebooking policy for all tickets issued for travel up to 15 June 2026. The Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) advises passengers to ensure they possess a valid, confirmed ticket, noting that some flight schedules may still be subject to operational adjustments.
