Religious Guidance Signs Installed Across Kaafu Atoll as Nationwide Campaign Begins

The government has commenced the installation of street-level advisory boards across the inhabited islands of Kaafu Atoll, marking the first phase of a nationwide initiative to promote religious awareness and moral values. Launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the project aims to place religious guidance signage on every inhabited island in the Maldives over the course of a year. According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, signage has already been dispatched to all islands within Kaafu Atoll. The ministry confirmed that shipments for the remaining atolls are scheduled for distribution in the coming days. To maximize visibility, the boards will be strategically placed along major thoroughfares and in public gathering spaces. The displays will feature public supplications and ethical exhortations, designed to remind citizens of virtuous deeds and encourage a stronger sense of civic morality throughout the community. The nationwide project is funded through a blend of state budgetary allocations, private donations, and support from civil society organizations. This effort is part of a broader strategy under President Muizzu to foster religious devotion among Maldivians. This initiative builds upon a similar model previously implemented in the capital, where signage was installed across Malé during the President's prior tenure as Mayor of Malé City.
