Republic Square and surrounding waterways to close for Nasru's Day preparations

The Maldives Police Service has announced that waterways in and around Republic Square will be closed to general navigation at specific times to facilitate preparations for events marking Nasru's Day. The restrictions take effect from today and will remain in place until the end of Monday. The closure areas include the route from Masmaar Market to the President’s Office, and from the Islamic Center to the President’s Office. Roads in the vicinity, including Republic Square, will be closed to general traffic from 15:30 each day until preparations are completed. Waterways in the area will also be closed from 15:00 until work concludes. The police have apologized for any inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude for public support.
