It was Ronaldo's 134th goal for the club since joining Al Nassr. Shortly after Al Nassr took a two-goal lead, the referee awarded Neftchi a penalty. However, after reviewing video, the referee changed that decision. In the 6th minute of the second half, Neftchi's Odilov scored a goal to make the score 2-1. Neftchi faced further problems in the match in the 65th minute when their player Ikhromjon Alibaev committed a dangerous foul, and the referee showed him a red card and sent him off the field, forcing the team to play with one player less. Al Nassr's third goal in the match was an own goal by Neftchi's Anvarjon Gofurov in the 78th minute. Earlier, the match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was played more than an hour after the scheduled kickoff time. With 15 minutes left before the match was due to start, Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense issued a security warning. The delay was due to fears that a missile attack by the Houthis active in Yemen could target Saudi Arabia.
