Russian Tour Operator LOTİ Reports Tripled Demand for Luxury Maldives Travel
World ·
Premium tour operator LOTİ, with the support of the Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), recently hosted an exclusive promotional event in Moscow to showcase the archipelago's luxury tourism appeal. The private dinner, held on June 24, was designed to immerse industry partners in the "slow travel" philosophy, emphasizing harmony, tranquility, and high-end island luxury.
To recreate the Maldivian experience, the Assunta Madre restaurant curated a bespoke culinary menu inspired by the islands' natural spirit. The gastronomic experience featured fresh seafood and contemporary combinations, presented by Executive Chef Catello Sansone, while live jazz music provided a sensory backdrop to the evening.
During the event, LOTİ reflected on the Maldives' evolution from a remote collection of fishing islands into a global leader in luxury tourism. The operator attributed this transformation to the strategic long-term development efforts led by the Ministry of Tourism and the private hospitality sector.
The evening also served as a platform to reveal surging demand from the Russian market. LOTİ reported that bookings for the 2025–2026 season on the Lujo BlackJet business-liner have more than tripled compared to the previous year. Occupancy for these premium flights reached 98%, with over 6,400 seats sold—a significant increase of 1.8 times over the prior season. During the New Year period, flights operated daily and recorded a load factor of 110%.
Further indicating a sustained appetite for the destination, LOTİ highlighted the introduction of guaranteed villas at leading Maldivian resorts. Early data for the winter 2026–2027 season already shows occupancy exceeding 20%, signaling strong confidence in the destination's continued appeal.
According to LOTİ, the Moscow event was a reflection of the company's belief that a memorable journey begins with emotion and anticipation long before the traveler reaches the destination. By blending gastronomy, music, and travel aesthetics, the operator aims to strengthen the bond between Russian luxury travelers and the unique offerings of the Maldives.
