Rawaf Mina, the Saudi Arabian Mutawwif appointed to serve Maldivian pilgrims, has guaranteed that comprehensive arrangements are in place for the upcoming Hajj season. The assurance came during a high-level meeting in Mecca between the Saudi service provider and the Maldives Hajj Mission. Zuhair bin Abdul Hamid Sadayo, Chief Executive Officer of Rawaf Mina, met with Sheikh Imthithaau Abbas, head of the Maldives Hajj Office in Mecca, to review the readiness of essential services. The discussions centered on the logistics of the Mashairs—the sacred sites visited during the pilgrimage—and the immediate preparations required before pilgrims arrive in the holy city. Sheikh Imthithaau Abbas noted that the Saudi government is providing significant support to the Mutawwifs to ensure a seamless experience for worshippers. He confirmed that the coordination between the Saudi authorities and the Maldivian mission is aimed at maintaining a high standard of care throughout the pilgrimage. As the official Mutawwif, Rawaf Mina is responsible for the total welfare of Maldivian pilgrims. Their mandate includes managing arrival logistics, arranging transportation, and providing essential food and water. They also handle the distribution of Nusuk cards and security bands, which are critical for the identification and safety of pilgrims. Specific improvements were highlighted regarding the accommodations in Mina. CEO Zuhair bin Abdul Hamid Sadayo revealed that new service packages include an increased number of sanitation facilities and improved cooking arrangements to better support pilgrims during their stay. Beyond logistics, Mutawwifs provide vital religious guidance and healthcare coordination. From arranging tents in Arafat and Mina to ensuring hotels meet strict quality standards, the organization acts as the primary liaison between travel agents, hotel managers, and the pilgrims themselves. In the event of medical emergencies, Rawaf Mina coordinates ambulance services and urgent healthcare assistance. This end-to-end support system is designed to allow Maldivian worshippers to focus on their spiritual journey while the administrative and physical necessities are managed by professional guides.
