Security Forces and State Companies Host Successful Eid Festivals for City Children

A series of children's festivals organized by Maldives' security forces and state-owned enterprises to mark Eid al-Adha have concluded, drawing significant praise from families across the capital region.
The events were strategically held across Male' and Hulhumalé to provide entertainment for children who remained in the city or traveled to the capital during the holiday period. The festivities featured a wide array of interactive stalls, games, and gift distributions designed to create a celebratory atmosphere for the youngest residents.
In Male', the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) anchored the celebrations, hosting activities at Republic Square and within the Sultan Park area. These hubs served as centers for community engagement, offering various entertainment options for families.
The celebrations extended to Hulhumalé Phase 1, where Central Park became a focal point for state-led activity. A broad coalition of state-owned companies participated, including the MPS, MNDF, Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), Public Service Media (PSM), Housing Development Corporation (HDC), State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), and the Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
Additional activities were hosted at Hiyaa Park in Hulhumalé Phase 2, organized through a joint effort by the MPS, MNDF, and WAMCO.
Parents expressed gratitude for the initiatives, noting that the festivals provided a valuable opportunity for family bonding during the Eid break. Children attending the events shared their excitement over the games and gifts, contributing to the overall success of the program. By providing these accessible public spaces for celebration, the organizing agencies ensured that children in the urban centers had a memorable holiday experience.
