Seychelles Foreign Minister Makes Historic First Official Visit to the Maldives

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure, has arrived in the Maldives for a landmark official visit. This trip marks the first time a Seychelles Foreign Minister has visited the Maldives, signaling a new chapter in the diplomatic relations between the two Indian Ocean nations. Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, Minister Faure was received by Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya and other senior government officials. The visit comes following a formal invitation from the Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iruthisham Adam, aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries. A series of high-level meetings are scheduled to take place during the visit. These discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral bonds and exploring opportunities for multilateral collaboration.
