Sh. Feevak Children's Park Project Stalled: Only Three Walls Painted After One Year

Local News ·
The children’s park project in Sh. Feevak, Shaviyani Atoll, has come to a standstill, with only three walls painted a year after its launch, according to the island council. Deputy President of the Feevak Council, Ali Riza, expressed concern that no significant progress has been made. Speaking to RaajjeTV, he said the project was launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on 14 October 2025, ahead of the local council elections. However, despite hiring 16 workers, work has been halted for over six months. 'As far as I remember, the work started around September last year. Sixteen workers were hired. So far, only three walls have been painted,' Riza said. He added that the council is not obstructing development but is working to expedite the project. The project was contracted to Fenaka Corporation Limited.
