Shafneez approved as Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation

The People's Majlis Economic Committee has approved the appointment of Ahmed Shafneez of S. Hulhudhoo Bageechaage to the post of Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had sent three names to the People's Majlis for appointment to the post. The names were Ahmed Shafneez of S. Hulhudhoo Bageechaage, Ahmed Mausoom of V. Miras, and Mariyam Jaida of Kandugasadhoshuge, K. Dhiffushi. During its study of the matter, the Economic Committee interviewed the candidates and committee members awarded marks. Under the People's Majlis rules and the criteria approved by the Parliament's General Committee, Shafneez received 96.20 percent, above the 75 percent threshold. The committee therefore approved Shafneez's appointment to the post and sent the report on its study of the matter to the Majlis floor.
