Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu announced that the school will upgrade its infrastructure to cater to 1,800 students, up from the current 1,500. The school, which has been facing capacity issues, will now split its operations into two shifts to manage the growing student population. The expansion includes the construction of 54 classrooms, all equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning. Additionally, the school will have three elevators and solar-powered energy systems installed. The project also includes the establishment of an auditorium, a hall, staff quarters, and a library. The upgraded facility is expected to significantly benefit the residents of Hulhumalé Phase 2, providing a modern and comfortable learning environment for students. The Shaheed Ali School is set to officially open its doors on January 27, offering state-of-the-art educational facilities.
