The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has appointed Shazhath Latheef to the Board of Directors of the Agro National Corporation Limited (AgroNAT). Latheef joins the state-owned agro-industry entity as the Accounting and Finance Member. Latheef brings extensive experience in fiscal management to the role, having served as a Budget Analyst at the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises since 2017. Her tenure at the ministry has positioned her at the center of the Maldives' financial planning, where she has played a key role in formulating the annual national budget and evaluating baseline allocations. In her professional capacity, Latheef has been responsible for analyzing expenditure trends, overseeing budget control mechanisms, and conducting comprehensive fiscal risk assessments. Her expertise extends to providing strategic guidance to various government agencies and contributing to critical national financial documents, including the Fiscal Risk Statement and the Budget Statistics Book. Her appointment to the AgroNAT board is backed by strong academic credentials. Latheef holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Bedfordshire and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from the University of the West of England. This appointment comes as AgroNAT continues to manage the Maldives' agricultural supply chains and food security initiatives, where robust financial oversight is essential for operational sustainability and growth.
