A solar power system was inaugurated at Sun Siyam Olhuveli on December 6, 2025, marking a significant step toward reducing diesel dependency and embracing sustainable energy. The project, launched by Hassan Adil, Assistant Group General Manager of Sun Siyam Group, and Haseeth Prematillake, Managing Director of Hayleys Solar, utilizes hybrid solar technology with battery storage for nighttime usage. Adil highlighted the initiative as part of the company's long-term environmental goals, aiming to convert 50% of Olhuveli's energy to renewable sources by 2030. The 2-megawatt solar PV system is expected to reduce over 3,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, aligning with global climate goals and enhancing operational efficiency.
