South Asian Games 2027 Postponed: Report

Sports ·
The 14th edition of the South Asian Games (SAG), the largest multi-sport event in South Asia, has reportedly been postponed to 2027. The decision comes after discussions between the South Asian Olympic Council (SAOC) and the Government of Pakistan. The event, originally scheduled for an earlier date, will now take place from February 23 to March 6, 2027. This postponement follows the cancellation of the 13th edition, which was initially planned for 2023 in Nepal but was delayed due to various reasons, including infrastructural challenges. Pakistan, which previously hosted the event in 1989 and 2004, has established a committee to oversee preparations. The upcoming games will feature 27 sports, with organizing authorities working to ensure a successful event.
