Table Tennis Association Championship Adds Under-9 and Under-11 Categories

The 31st Table Tennis Association Championship is currently underway at the Malé Table Tennis Hall, running from the 29th of this month to the 10th of next month. This year, the tournament has introduced two new age categories: under-9 and under-11. Approximately 110 children are competing in these divisions, with more than 365 matches expected to be played. Aleefa, manager of the national table tennis team, told PSM News that the new categories were added due to the increasing number of young players entering the sport, thanks to efforts by the Association and academies. She emphasized that producing young players is the Association's highest priority and that providing competition opportunities for children is its goal.
