Work has begun to clear debris and repair damaged houses and roads in Thaimagaa following damage caused by a cyclone. Residents have shown an exemplary spirit in helping to clean up the island and assist those whose homes were damaged, according to local officials.
Thaimagaa Council Vice President Adam Azam told Tiladhuun that efforts to clear debris and repair damaged houses and roads are currently underway through collaboration between the island’s residents and institutions. During the incident, strong winds and rain blew down a tree branch, which struck a person, causing head injuries. The injured individual received medical treatment and has since been discharged.
While some houses and storage facilities in the island suffered significant roof damage due to the cyclone, the Thaimagaa Council stated that no house has been rendered uninhabitable.
