Third segment of Ameenee Magu repair to open for traffic this week
Local News ·
MTCC has announced that the third segment of the Ameenee Magu road repair project will be completed and opened for general traffic this week. The company stated that the latest work on this segment is currently ongoing, with concrete works at junctions and road sign markings already finished.
The third segment runs from Izzuddin Hinghumun to Korkandhi Hingum. Work began on the 4th of last month, with tar removed from an area of 1,924.77 meters before ABC and new tar were laid.
Following this, work on Segment 4, covering the area from Korkandhi Hingum to Ghiyasudeen International School, has been arranged. Tar will be removed from an area of 1,148.91 meters and relaid, with road sign marking continuing.
The repair project was initiated due to significant difficulties caused by cracking and potholes on Ameenee Magu. MTCC was entrusted with cutting out and repairing the damaged tar sections in June this year. The half stretch from the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation building to Darmaavantha Hospital has already been completed and opened for public use.
