Three Indian naval vessels have arrived in Malé for a scheduled training visit, the Indian High Commission in the Maldives announced on Wednesday. The vessels – INS Tira, INS Sujatha, and ICGS Sarathi – belong to the Indian Navy's First Training Squadron. In a post on social media platform X, the High Commission said the visit will further strengthen bilateral and maritime ties between the two countries. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) formally welcomed the ships upon their arrival. Joint training exercises involving Indian and Maldivian forces are planned during the stay. The last such joint military training took place in January of this year. The two nations, along with Sri Lanka, also conduct an annual trilateral exercise named 'Dosti'.
