Training Program Launched for Elections Officials Ahead of Local Council Elections

The Elections Commission (EC) has initiated a training program titled 'Training of Trainers' (ToT) for officials tasked with managing polling stations during the upcoming local council elections. The program, organized in collaboration with the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and supported by the Santa Fa Education Secondaire (CHES), aims to equip officials with the necessary skills and knowledge to efficiently conduct voting procedures. The training commenced on April 3rd and will continue until April 9th, involving 95 trainers from various atolls across the country. Officials will be prepared to handle voting centers in Malé and other islands, as well as stations designated for Maldivians living abroad. The program emphasizes the importance of adhering to electoral laws and ensuring a smooth voting process.
