True Muslims Will Never Turn to Another Religion, Friday Sermon Declares

Local News ·
Today's Friday sermon in the Maldives declared that a true Muslim, no matter what hardships, sacrifices or injustices he faces, would never seek a religion other than Islam. Delivered under the theme "The Supreme Blessing of Islam," the sermon said Islam was the greatest religion chosen and perfected by Allah, and that the happiness of both worlds is linked to its noble principles. It described Islam as containing all the guidance needed for human success, said nothing in the religion distances a person from noble character and good deeds, and called it the only path to human welfare until the Day of Judgment. The sermon also expressed regret that some people show little care for religious matters, go beyond the limits set by Allah, neglect religious duties, and follow cultures and bad moral standards alien to Islam's noble principles. A true Muslim, it added, remains steadfast in his religion and faith in the face of every tribulation. The sermon further said that Allah has granted Muslims honor and dignity through Islam, calling the religion "the secret of our honor" and the source of Muslims' superiority and sovereignty over other nations, with Islamic history as strong evidence. Whenever Muslims move away from their religion, the sermon warned, their enemies gain power over them. It said strength and victory over enemies can only be achieved by returning to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
