Trump Threatens Second Strike on Venezuela, Warns of Military Action in Colombia
International ·
US President Donald Trump has warned of a potential second strike on Venezuela if 'they don't behave,' while also hinting at military action in Colombia. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump stated that such an operation in Colombia 'sounds good to me.' He criticized Colombia's government, calling it 'very sick' and accusing its leader of involvement in drug trafficking. Trump's comments follow a US raid on Venezuela that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who now faces drug-trafficking charges in New York. Meanwhile, Venezuela's interim leader, Delcy Rodriguez, called for a 'balanced and respectful' relationship with the United States. Trump also suggested that Cuba is 'ready to fall' following the Venezuelan operation, though he downplayed the need for US military intervention in Cuba. The Cuban government reported that 32 Cubans were killed in the US attack on Caracas.
