Two Arrested with Over Three Kilograms of Drugs in Police Operation

In a major drug bust, police have arrested two individuals in connection with the possession of over three kilograms of illegal substances. The operation, carried out in collaboration with Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence units, took place on January 4th. Authorities seized a significant quantity of drugs from an apartment linked to the suspects. The individuals arrested have been identified as Shain Ali, 27, from Naifaru, and Aishath Maashaa Ahmed, 20, from Feridhoo. Both suspects have been remanded for five days as investigations continue. The Maldives Police Service stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
