He made the remarks at a press conference held at the President's Office. He said the second parking building will be built on vacant land next to the National University's Business School on Sosun Magu, and that work is in the final stage of being awarded to a contractor. 'President has decided to build the parking building at Hinnaamaage parking. Work is ongoing with the contractor on the final details. Then, work is also ongoing to build a parking building on the land next to the university on Sosun Magu. Yesterday, we were able to finalize almost the final stage of that work,' Saeed said. Saeed said the work will be handed over to the contractor and start soon, and the current target is to complete the parking buildings before next November. He also said the buildings will bring relief to parking in Male'. 'The target of both buildings, which will be handed over to the contractor soon, is to complete these places before November next year. Therefore, if God wills, this will bring parking solutions that did not exist before,' Saeed said. Last July, President Muizzu announced on 'The Pulse' podcast that work was underway to build two parking buildings in Male'. The President said the work had stalled due to seeking foreign financing, but that he does not intend to delay the project further. Last March, four parking buildings in Hulhumale' were handed over to Batch Construction and work began. Batch Construction decided to build a 13-storey building in Hulhumale' Phase 1, with more than 500 spaces for two-wheeled vehicles and more than 800 spaces for four-wheeled vehicles, the largest such parking building planned so far. The project is to be completed within two years, built according to codes used for such buildings in developed countries, with priority given to traffic flow inside the building and commercial space included, the company has said.
