Two Youths Arrested with Over Three Kilos of Drugs in Maldives Narcotics Operation

Two youths have been arrested in a counter-narcotics operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service’s Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. The suspects, identified as Shaain Ali, 27, from Falak, L. Naifaru, and Aishath Maasha Ahmed, 20, from Ihraamge, AA. Feridhoo, were found in possession of over three kilograms of drugs. The arrest followed a court-ordered search of a residence in Male’ City’s Henveiru district. Both suspects have been remanded in custody for five days as investigations continue. Police noted that youths are increasingly involved in major drug networks, with many arrests in drug-related cases targeting younger individuals.
