Business ·
Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Sharif (Mundhu) has stated that UAE nationals are expected to be the largest investors in the Rasmale real estate development project, which is being carried out by UAE-based Eagle Hills company. Speaking to Maldivian media from Dubai, Mundhu noted that UAE nationals are highly experienced in the real estate sector and that the Maldives is already a popular destination for them. He said that the Rasmale project, offering real estate tourism, has generated significant interest among UAE buyers, who are likely to purchase apartments and villas as "summer homes" without residing permanently in the Maldives. Mundhu also highlighted Eagle Hills' involvement in similar projects in the UAE, including Ramhan Island and Lulu Island in Abu Dhabi, as well as Maryam Island in Sharjah.
