Union Criticizes Exploitation of Local Workers in Bidheysee Falhuverin
Politics ·
The union representing local workers in Bidheysee Falhuverin has strongly criticized the exploitation of workers in the region. Following a major industrial operation led by local workers, the union has called for immediate action to address the unjust treatment of workers, particularly those from the Bidheysee Falhuverin area. The union stated that the workers were exploited in a manner that was both unethical and unnecessary, highlighting that their demands for fair treatment and better working conditions have been consistently ignored. The union also emphasized that the exploitation was carried out under the guise of necessity, but in reality, it was a result of systemic negligence. Social media posts by the union have shed light on the situation, stating that the workers were brought in with the promise of a month's salary, but were instead subjected to harsh conditions and denied fair compensation. The union has urged relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that the workers are treated fairly and that their rights are protected. The industrial operation, which involved over 60 workers, has been marred by controversies, with reports of workers being paid between 80 to 100 Rufiyaa for their labor. The Ministry of Fisheries has been called upon to address the issues faced by the workers and to ensure that such exploitation does not occur in the future.
