Vice President Pledges Support for Key Infrastructure Projects in Nolhivaranfaru

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has met with the Nolhivaranfaru Island Council to address critical development gaps and prioritize infrastructure projects for the Haa Dhaalu Atoll community.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office, council members presented a comprehensive list of urgent needs aimed at improving the quality of life for island residents. A primary focus of the discussions centered on educational and transport infrastructure, with the council urging the immediate commencement of road development projects and the construction of a new school building.
In addition to essential services, the council emphasized the importance of youth engagement and wellness. Members called for the modernization of the island’s football and futsal grounds, alongside general upgrades to existing sports facilities to provide better recreational opportunities for the community.
Further discussions highlighted the necessity of upgrading the island’s harbor to facilitate better maritime logistics and commerce. The council also requested the government to expedite the completion of the local police station to enhance security and requested improvements to the services provided at the island's health center.
Responding to these concerns, Vice President Latheef assured the council that he would personally advocate for these priorities with the relevant government authorities. He committed to closely monitoring the progress of these projects to ensure that the developmental needs of Nolhivaranfaru are met efficiently.
