Visit Maldives Digital Campaign Reaches 10 Million People to Boost Tourism
World ·
A month-long digital marketing drive by the Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has reached over 10 million people globally, marking a significant step in the nation's ongoing efforts to attract international travelers via online platforms.
Deployed across YouTube, Instagram, Google, and Yandex, the campaign generated over 160 million digital impressions and 22 million video views. Beyond mere visibility, the initiative drove more than 600,000 sessions to the official Visit Maldives website, with traffic from targeted source markets surging by up to 54 percent.
The VMC utilized a strategic combination of destination-focused content, search advertising, and remarketing. This multi-layered approach was designed to engage potential tourists at every stage of their journey, moving them from initial inspiration to active holiday research.
Ibrahim Shiuree, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, noted that the performance metrics reflect a rising global interest in the archipelago. He emphasized that the high volume of website sessions indicates that audiences are doing more than passively consuming content; they are actively considering the Maldives for their next trip.
"Achieving more than 160 million impressions and 22 million video views within a single month is an outstanding result for the Maldives," Shiuree stated. "More importantly, the campaign generated 600,000 website sessions, showing that audiences were not simply viewing our content, but were actively engaging with the destination."
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Visit Maldives to stimulate tourism demand through video storytelling and data-driven search marketing. The organization is specifically targeting markets that offer strong airline connectivity and high growth potential.
Moving forward, the VMC plans to closely monitor audience behavior and campaign performance. By refining these digital efforts, the corporation aims to convert high levels of online interest into a tangible increase in visitor arrivals to the islands.
