Visit Maldives Launches Digital Campaign to Boost Tourism in Russian Market
World ·
The Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has initiated a month-long joint digital marketing campaign to increase the Maldives' visibility and drive targeted traffic from Russia, one of its most critical source markets.
The initiative is being executed in partnership with Maldiviana, a travel and tourism operator with nearly three decades of experience. Operating since 1994 with offices in both Male’ and Moscow, Maldiviana specializes in luxury travel, resort stays, and safari cruises tailored specifically for Russian-speaking travelers.
VMC stated that Maldiviana’s deep understanding of traveler preferences makes them a strategic partner in sustaining demand. The campaign leverages a comprehensive digital approach, combining destination storytelling and targeted online advertising to stimulate travel intent and increase booking conversions among high-value tourists.
Through curated content, the campaign highlights the unique luxury and experiential offerings of the islands. By focusing on digital visibility, VMC aims to reinforce the Maldives' position as a preferred holiday destination, ensuring the brand remains top-of-mind for travelers in the region.
This push comes as Russia continues to be a cornerstone of the Maldivian tourism economy. Currently, Russia ranks as the second largest source market for the country, contributing 13.4 percent of total arrivals with 112,718 tourists. The ongoing collaboration is part of a broader strategy to maintain a competitive edge in a key global market and ensure a steady flow of visitors to the archipelago.
