Vital Care Brings Specialist Health Screenings to Kaafu Atoll Island Communities
Health ·
Vital Care Multi Speciality Clinic has launched a series of specialist health camps across Kaafu Atoll, partnering with local island councils to bring critical medical services directly to residents.
The initiative has already reached the communities of Kaashidhoo, Huraa, and Guraidhoo. These camps provide essential specialist consultations and comprehensive health screenings, reducing the need for residents to undertake the costly and time-consuming journey to the capital, Malé, for expert medical attention.
The visiting medical team includes a diverse range of experts, including a paediatrician, an internal medicine specialist, an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist, and a dentist. Vital Care noted that the programme is specifically designed to bridge the gap in dental care, which is often limited or unavailable on smaller islands.
Beyond immediate treatment, the camps aim to strengthen the overall healthcare infrastructure within the islands and foster knowledge-sharing between specialists and local health practitioners. By decentralizing specialty care, the programme seeks to identify health issues early and provide immediate guidance to patients within their own communities.
Vital Care operates healthcare and dental services across various regions of the Maldives. In addition to these mobile camps, the company maintains a clinic in Malé that extends its reach to the northern atolls through operations in Kulhudhuffushi City.
Following the initial success in Kaashidhoo, Huraa, and Guraidhoo, Vital Care announced plans to expand the programme, conducting similar specialist camps in more islands to ensure broader access to quality healthcare for Maldivian citizens.
