The voter lists for the by-elections of the local councils and the committees working for women's development in four islands have been published and opened for complaints today. In an announcement issued by the Elections Commission (EC), the lists made public are the voter lists for HA. Vashafaru, N. Kudafari, V. Thinadhoo and S. Hulhudhoo. According to the lists published by the EC, 688 people are eligible to vote in Vashafaru, while 653 people are eligible to vote in Kudafari. In addition, 185 people can vote in Thinadhoo. In Hulhudhoo, 2,903 people are eligible to vote. The EC said the opportunity to file complaints regarding those lists has been opened until 12:00 noon on Saturday, the 24th of this month. The commission said that in the by-elections for the local councils and the women's development committees scheduled to be held on the 28th of next month, voters can check their eligibility information by entering their voter ID and ID card number and sending it to 1414. The lists have also been published in the Government Gazette and on the Elections Commission's website. According to the EC, those who wish to file complaints with the registry must submit their complaints online through the EC's main portal. The EC also said that parties wishing to submit complaints in relation to changes or omissions that need to be brought in order to validate the registry during that period will also be able to file complaints. The commission said that when proposing the addition of a person to the registry, the removal of a person from the registry, or a change to information included in the registry, a copy of an official document that would prove the validity of the complaint must be submitted. The EC also said that if political parties wish to file complaints regarding the registry, the complaints must be submitted through the Simedha portal provided to the political party.
