WAMCO Announces Reduction in Waste Disposal Fees for SMEs Effective February 1

The Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has announced a reduction in waste disposal fees for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), effective February 1. The decision aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's pledge to alleviate waste management costs for SMEs. In a press release issued Tuesday, WAMCO confirmed the revision and stated that discussions are underway to introduce specific categories or bands to further reduce charges for SMEs. The President made this commitment during a meeting with business owners on December 17, where concerns about the high cost of waste collection services were highlighted. Following the meeting, WAMCO was instructed to find an appropriate solution to address these concerns.
