Weather to Worsen in Most of Maldives During Weekend: Met Office

The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a forecast warning that weather conditions will deteriorate across large parts of the country during the weekend. According to the Met Office, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds are expected, with wind speeds reaching up to 40 miles per hour in squalls. A yellow alert has been issued for atolls from Haa Alifu to Baa and from Lhaviyani to Laamu, valid during specified hours on Friday. The Met Office also advised sea travelers to exercise caution due to rough seas and strong winds expected in the northern and central regions.
