White Weather Warning Issued from L. Atoll to Addu Atoll

The National Meteorological Agency has issued a white warning for the area starting from L. Atoll up to the Addu Atoll. The warning is effective from 8:35 this evening until 2:00 in the morning. The agency stated that heavy rain with thunder is expected to fall on the islands in that area during these times. The agency has also forecasted that weather conditions will deteriorate over the next five days, with the west monsoon expected to intensify and bring heavy rain and thunder to various parts of the country. Cyclonic effects may impact some areas. While strong winds are not expected, normal wind speeds between 5 and 15 miles per hour are forecast, though winds could reach up to 40 miles per hour in the Maldives archipelago. The seas are expected to become rough due to the rain, and the National Meteorological Agency has appealed to maritime entities to pay attention to the weather and stated that it will share the latest weather information.
