Yellow Weather Alert Issued for GA and GD Atolls Amid Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms

The Maldives National Meteorological Center has issued a yellow weather alert for GA and GD atolls, effective today from 13:30 to 16:30. The alert warns of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour during squalls. The center also stated that the ongoing rainy weather is expected to persist across much of the country over the next 24 hours and continue through the weekend. Seas are expected to become rough, especially in the northern and central atolls, with squalls bringing even rougher conditions.
